Description

This is a handbook for writing research papers, BA and other projects, theses, essays etc. in Danish higher education. The book is written for students who must independently formulate a research question and search for literature for their research papers: - Bachelor theses - Research papers - projects at all levels of project oriented education -- Master and diploma theses. The book includes numerous annotated examples of good papers from a great number of university educations and professional bachelor programmes. The books view is that the research paper is a genre that cuts across fields and disciplines. This genre has five fundamental guiding elements which can be illustrated by the pentagon model: 1 - Research question; 2 - Purpose; 3 - Data, materials and phenomena; 4 - Theories, concepts and methods; 5 - Research design. The book includes activities along with explanations: How do you write a good paper? Forms for all activities can be found on: samfundslitteratur.dk/thegoodpaper. By using these forms and adjusting them to their own use, students will gain a good and methodical start to their work.
